EDDY DECO starts off as a classic hard-boiled detective story in the tradition of The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, and Chinatown. Eddy is hired by a beautiful and mysterious woman to find her missing father, but as the plot unfolds with several bizarre twists and turns, Eddy’s search leads him to villains who have a disconcerting habit of turning into giant lobsters and octopi.
In addition to Eddy, there is Frankie, a ten year old boy who hangs around Eddy in the hopes of some day becoming a detective just like Eddy. Frankie can’t help following Eddy as he chases down clues to the mystery, in the process adding more jeopardy to all concerned. It all culminates in a spectacular final battle of good vs evil as only Gahan Wilson could conceive it, with a surprise twist ending.
